Two GFW school board members resign; new election scheduled

According to the Winthrop News, two current Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop school district board directors have submitted their resignations: Jason Haas of Gibbon, and Amy Acre of Fairfax. Both stated their resignations were effective immediately.

A legal announcement in the Winthrop News is calling for a special school board director election in November. Filing for the two positions begins on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

For the time being, the School Board will appoint interim members. The interim members will be replaced by the newly elected candidates in January.
