Two Bingham Lake residents seriously injured in car/semi crash near Windom Thursday

A Bingham Lake couple was seriously injured in a crash when a car and a semi crashed near Windom Thursday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Oct. 12 Gerald Norman Just, age 79, of Bingham Lake, was driving a Pontiac Bonneville southbound on Highway 71. At the same time, Edward Patrick Cooper, age 59, of Hampton, was driving a semi-truck eastbound on Highway 60. At about 1:47 p.m., the vehicles collided at the intersection.

Cooper was not injured, but Gerald Just was transported to the hospital in Windom with non-life threatening injuries. Just’s passenger, Linda Jane Just, age 74, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Cottonwood Sheriff’s Office, Windom Police Department, and Windom Fire Department and ambulance.
