Springfield man injured in Redwood County collision Friday evening

A Springfield man was injured in a Redwood County collision Friday evening.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, at about 9:15 p.m., Kurtis Mathiowetz, age 38, of Springfield was driving a 1996 Mercury Sable when he collided with a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Emily Nelson, age 27, of Redwood Falls at the intersection of County Road 13 and 300th Street. 

Mathiowetz was transported to an area hospital, and both vehicles suffered moderate to severe damages. The Lower Sioux Police Department assisted at the scene.
