Renville County Seeks Public Comment on Lake Allie County Park Enhancement Project

Renville County seeks public comment on a proposed Park Enhancement Project at Lake Allie County Park, located at 84068 County Road 24 in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.  This project aims to increase outdoor recreation opportunities available in Renville County.  Public comments will be open until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023.

The Lake Allie County Park Enhancement Project would:

• construct a camper cabin to complement the current RV sites. (A camper cabin is a permanent rustic enclosure with walls and a floor that does not include a bathroom.) 
• remove the failing vault style bathrooms and pump house.
• construct a new bathroom/shower/storm shelter facility.

The Renville County Board of Commissioners authorized a grant application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Recreation Program for up to $700,000 for the Lake Allie County Park Enhancement Project with a 50/50 match commitment from Renville County of up to $350,000 to fund this project from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025 (FY2024 – FY2025).
