Redwood Area School District to stay with distance learning through December

After accessing the local situation, the Redwood Area School District COVID committee decided on Wednesday to stay with the distance learning model through the month of December.

According to Superintendent Becky Cselovszki, the tentative plan is for PreK-6 students to return to the hybrid model in their respective buildings on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Monday, Jan. 4 will be a teacher planning day to prepare for the learning model change.  There will be no student instruction that day.  Essential childcare will also not be available that day as these employees will be preparing for student return on Tuesday.

Grades 7-12 will remain in distance learning through Friday, January 8th.  They would return to hybrid on Monday, January 11th (again this is if COVID data and staffing allows).

Cselovszki stated, “This decision was not an easy one, as we know the burden on our families of young children.  Although we have a good plan in place, we continue to be concerned with the education of our students and their mental health needs.”
