MnDOT District 8 is re-engaging the community in a process to identify a safety improvement project for the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 9 in New London.

The community is invited to an in-person public meeting for the Highway 23 safety improvement project on Tuesday, August 9 from 3-7 pm at Peace Lutheran Church (100 4th Ave. SW) in New London.  Information on potential safety improvements will be available and the public will have the opportunity to share their feedback.

A virtual meeting will be available on August 9 for those unable to attend the in-person public meeting.  Community members are invited to visit the project webpage at mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy23newlondon to view the virtual meeting as it is convenient. An on-line survey will also be available on August 9.

A community advisory group has been helping to analyze potential safety improvements.  The advisory group will consider public feedback and make a recommendation to MnDOT on a safety improvement that can be implemented in the next five years, will allow for future growth, minimize impacts on adjacent properties and assure the flow of commerce on Highway 23.
