A Morton man, Alan Wayne Pendleton Jr., age 41, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony drug possession.

According to court documents, on June 9 of this year, the Emergency Response Unit arrived at the residence of Pendleton in Redwood County with a search warrant. Members of the ERU ordered Pendleton to exit the residence, and he did and was taken into custody.

During the search, the Emergency Response Unit discovered two firearms in a bedroom, and a small marijuana grow of five plants in the basement. At that point, agents from the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force took over the search. Their search uncovered several other handguns and accessories, and a rifle with a loaded double drum magazine and red dot optic.

In a hidden compartment behind a mirror, agents located a plastic bag with 94 grams of methamphetamine. In the kitchen and living room, agents located more handgun accessories and drug paraphernalia, including 31 pills allegedly containing Percocet and fentanyl.

On Nov. 14, Alan Wayne Pendleton Jr. was sentenced to 65 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, and fees of $235.
