A male caller reported to law enforcement that someone tried to kill him near a boat landing near Fairfax Thursday morning.
According to the Southern Minnesota Fire/Police/EMS Facebook page, law enforcement was called to a boat ramp near Highway 4 east of Fairfax about a male who called 911 saying that someone tried to kill him. The caller stated the murder attempt didn’t work and he needed someone to help him. The dispatcher on the phone with the man stated he was very upset, and the dispatcher could hear him away from the phone crying and breathing hard.
Officers on scene reported they found the man with zip ties around his neck. They also said they were trying to control the man, but he didn’t want to sit down. Deputies on scene requested the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension respond for an investigation.
Officers on Thursday morning were unsure if there was anyone else involved in this incident, but they’re still keeping it a possibility. This is an ongoing situation, and KLGR will report as more information becomes available.
