Man arrested for DWI after Kandiyohi County Crash Saturday evening

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, on Dec. 23, at about 11:16 p.m., law enforcement learned of a crash in the 7700 block of County Road 40 NE.

Emergency crews determined a 2018 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Eliseo Tello Jr., age 30, of Hawick, was traveling east on County Road 40 when the vehicle left the road, striking numerous trees and a parked vehicle. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Tello was arrested for Criminal Vehicular Operation, DWI, and drug possession.

His passenger, Ana Lilia Salazar-Dahl, age 33, of New London, received minor injuries.

Assisting on the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Willmar Police Department, and the New London Fire and Ambulance Service.
