Carnie Allex has been administrator of Carris Health – Redwood since July 13.

Carnie Allex has been the new Administrator for Carris Health ā€“ Redwood since July 13.

It wasn’t a case of a complete stranger to the area being named as the new administrator, someone who doesn’t know southwest Minnesota or the life style. Allex has lived in Danube for years with her husband and three children, involved in the local school and community.

Allex has also been involved in area health care for years, starting her career as a pharmacist at Page Snyder Drug in Olivia before becoming Pharmacy Director at Rice Hospital in Willmar.

Now Carnie Allex is faced with not just taking charge of Carris Health – Redwood, but doing so as the organization is in transition. Currently a $60 million new hospital and clinic facility is being built on the south side of Redwood Falls, and Allex is jumping in as administrator in the middle of the process.

KLGR News Director Joshua Dixon spoke with Carnie Allex about the challenges of becoming administrator of a hospital and clinic as it’s dealing with not only day-to-day responsibilities, but as it’s preparing to move to a new facility:
