A North Dakota man was arrested after being captured by Kandiyohi County deputies following a three-county high speed chase Sunday.
On May 15, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office deputies were aware of radio reports of a black Cadillac car being pursued by the Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office eastbound through their county. That pursuit was ended by Big Stone County.
Shortly afterward, the Cadillac was involved in a pursuit in Chippewa County with officers but that pursuit was ended just outside of Clara City.
A Kandiyohi County deputy found the Cadillac on Highway 7 in southeastern Kandiyohi County around 4 pm, and a short pursuit began. For safety reasons the deputy ended that pursuit, but followed the vehicle at a distance.
The vehicle was located a short time later on a field approach near Highway 7 and 90th Street SE in Lake Lillian. A 36-year-old male from Hankinson, ND was arrested and taken to the Kandiyohi County Jail pending formal charges.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Willmar Police Department and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
