Winthrop resident injured in collision with semi-truck during Wednesday’s storm

The Minnesota State Patrol reports a Winthrop resident was injured during a collision with a semi-truck during last Wednesday’s blizzard.

At about 2:22 p.m. on Dec. 23, a 2013 GMC Sierra driven by Casey Lee Edwards, age 44, was westbound on Highway 19. Edward vehicle collided with a 2018 Peterbilt semi-truck being driven by Patrick Julius Hjorth, age 73, of North Saint Paul.

Edward was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Winthrop Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
