Jogger fatally hit by pickup in Cottonwood County Saturday

A jogger was killed north of Bingham Lake Saturday morning.

The Cottonwood County Sheriff responded at 8:18 a.m. to County Rd 3, just east of the County Road 2 intersection, for a vehicle and pedestrian crash.

Police say a 25-year-old man from rural Bingham Lake was eastbound in a Silverado pickup when he came over the crest of a hill upon two pedestrians who were jogging east.  The pickup struck a 39-year-old Mountain Lake woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
