A Willmar teen is being tried as an adult for attempted murder after a shooting incident this past summer.

According to KWLM, 16-year-old Adrian Medina made his first appearance in Kandiyohi County District Court Friday on two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and 2 Counts of 2nd Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Police say Medina fired at least 8 shots at a man who confronted him while Medina was tampering with the victim’s car in the 400 Block of Julii Street August 27th. The victim was not injured, but was able to identify the shooter as Medina.

Medina’s next court appearance takes place Monday (1:45 p.m.) before Judge Jennifer Fischer.
