Two people were seriously injured in a Renville County collision Friday afternoon.

On Sept. 22, at about 4:55 p.m., the  Renville County Sheriff’s Office learned of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Roads 5 and 4, about six miles south of Bird Island. 

Preliminary investigation showed a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by 24-year-old Jordon Snyder of St. Paul, was travelling west on Co  Rd 4 and failed to stop at the stop sign. Snyder’s vehicle was collided into by a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 38-year-old Mathew Olson of Morgan. 

Snyder was flown from the scene to North Memorial Hospital by North  Memorial Air Care, with serious injuries. Snyder’s passenger, 24-year-old Cassandra Krois of St. Paul, was transported to Olivia Hospital and Clinic, by the Olivia Ambulance Service, with non-life-threatening  injuries.  

Assisting on scene were: Hector Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Bird  Island First Responders, Bird Island Fire Department, Olivia Ambulance, North  Memorial Air Care and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.  

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
