State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, will continue to serve as the lead Republican on the House Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee. It is his third consecutive stint as the top House Republican on this subject. The Legislature convenes Jan. 3 to start the 2023 session at the Capitol in St. Paul.

Swedzinski has served multiple terms on committees related to energy, evaluating policies of the state and assessing the overall impacts on Minnesotans.

Swedzinski said, “This committee makes decisions that have significant impacts on people in Greater Minnesota and I will continue working to make sure their voice is heard at the Capitol…. With each new proposal, we need to ask how it will make energy more affordable and reliable for Minnesotans. Affordable, reliable energy is my main objective with this committee and I look forward to this opportunity to continue advocating for the priorities of people in our area.”
