A Redwood Falls woman was sentenced in Redwood County court for taking hundreds of dollars of gift cards from an area business.

According to court documents, on Feb. 22, 2019, employees of Jackpot Junction Casino informed the Lower Sioux Community Police Department that a number of Redwood Area Community Center gift cards had been taken from an office. The missing cards were traced to an account attached to Alicia Marie Halverson, age 38, who had been employed by the casino at the time of the thefts.

Further investigation showed the missing gift card numbers being posted to a Redwood Falls Parks and Recreation Department account under Halverson’s name.

On Jan. 26 of this year, Halvorson was sentenced to 90 days local confinement, stayed 90 days for one year, one year supervised probation, and $285 in fines and fees.
