Redwood Falls man sentenced for felony domestic assault

A Redwood Falls man, Taylor Kyle Denton, age 25, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony domestic assault for a incident last November.

According to court documents, on Nov. 7, 2023, Redwood Falls Police Department offices were sent to a residence on a report of a domestic assault and damage to property. A witness stated Denton had gotten into an argument with the victim, and kicked a door which hit the victim as it opened. Officers noted the door jamb was splintered.

Investigation showed that Denton had previous convictions in 2019 and 2017 for domestic assault.

On Jan. 29, Denton was sentenced to 21 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for five years, 78 days local confinement, five years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $385.
