Redwood County Sheriff’s Office identifies man who died in Minnesota River crash Friday

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died when his vehicle crashed in Redwood County Friday morning as Thaddeus Lorenz, age 30, of New Auburn.

On Jan. 19th, at about 11 a.m., law enforcement learned of a vehicle that had crashed onto the Minnesota River at the 43000 block of Harvest Avenue. Deputies found Lorenz deceased inside the vehicle. The vehicle did not break through the ice, and has been removed from the scene.

This incident is under investigation, and the Ramsey County medical examiner is determining the cause of death.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by  the Belview Fire Department, Belview First Responders, Centra Care Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol,  Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
