Names of three who died in Kandiyohi County collision Sunday released

The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the three people who died in a Kandiyohi County collision on Sunday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:48 a.m. on June 18, a 2007 BMW 328 driven by Jill Diana Ellingson-Hegstrom, age 51, of Wawick was southbound on Kandiyohi County Road 2. A 2015 Dodge Caravan driven by Douglas Austin Franks, age 72, of Monticello, was northbound on the same road. The vehicles collided about one-quarter mile north of 240th Avenue NE.

Both drivers were declared deceased at the scene, as was Franks’ passenger, Diana Leigh Farm-Franks, age 69, of Monticello.

The Minnesota State Patrol is still investigating the crash. Assisting on the scene were the New London Fire Department and Ambulance, Kandiyohi County Rescue and Sheriff’s Office, CentraCare, and Lifelink.
