Morton man dies in fatal ATV collision Friday evening

A Morton man died in a fatal collision on Highway 71 on Friday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:30 p.m. on June 11, Conrad Lee Rainey, age 46, of Red Lake, was southbound on Highway 71. About one mile north of Morton, a 2019 Polaris ATV driven by Richard Alan O’Neil, age 66, of Morton, came up out of the west ditch and in front of Rainey’s vehicle.

Rainey and his passenger, Tyrese Desjarlait, age 18, were taken to Carris Health-Redwood with non-life threatening injuries, while O’Neil died at the scene.

The Morton Police Department and Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
