A male senior citizen died, and two others citizens were seriously injured, in a collision in Kandiyohi County Monday morning.

On May 8, at about 10:38 a.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the west intersection of County Roads 9 and 10.

Deputies arrived to learn that a southbound Ford F-150 2022 driven by an unidentified a 79 year old man had gone through the intersection of County Roads 9 and 10. The pickup collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 28 year old female who was transported to CentraCare Willmar with serious injuries. A four year old boy in the Impala was not injured, but a 41 year old male passenger was ejected from the Impala and air-lifted to CentraCare in St. Cloud with life-threatening injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting on the scene were the Spicer Fire Department and First Reponders, New London Ambulance and Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, CentraCare Ambulance, Life Link Air Ambulance, Kandiyohi County Public Works, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
