Employee injured falling off platform onto roof in Kandiyohi County Monday

An Atwater business’s employee was seriously injured falling off a platform onto a roof east of Willmar Monday.

On Dec. 5, at about 7:35 p.m., the Atwater Police Department responded to a business in the 500 block of Pleasant Ave. E. on a report of an employee who had fallen and was reporting having leg pain.

Officers and emergency personnel found the victim on the roof of a building, about 12 feet off the ground. The employee had fallen about four feet off a platform. Emergency personnel were able to get the employee to the ground safely, and transported to the hospital in St. Cloud with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The incident is under investigation by the Atwater Police Department.

The Atwater Police Department was assisted by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and Rescue Squad, Atwater Fire Department and Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, Willmar Fire Department, Life Link III, and the Kandiyohi County Tactical Rescue Team.
