Drought relieved in SW MN from this week’s rains
According to the National Weather Service, southwestern Minnesota has been hit by drought and “abnormally dry” weather conditions this winter and spring. This week’s rain has been a huge benefit for planting season, with localized rainfall in excess of three inches seen in parts of the state. As of Wednesday morning, the Redwood Falls airport reported 2.25 inches of rain.

New Ulm reported 2.14 inches
Willmar reported 2 inches
Clements reported 1.9 inches
South of Bird Island reported 1.8 inches
