The Red Cross is facing a nationwide blood shortage because of coronavirus lockdowns, and you can do something to help soon. The Redwood Falls Blood Drive will be at the Redwood Area Community Center July 6 and 7, operating much like the one last April:
1. Once again the Redwood Falls blood drive will not be taking walk-ins, so all donors must have an appointment. You can make an appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org or call Barb at 507-370-3457 or Heather at 507-430-4695.
2.  All donors must wear a mask and will have their temperatures taken at the door.  (A mask will be provided if you do not have one)
3. No adjustments can be made to the schedule after 10 a.m. on the day of the drive, so please let local organizers know as soon as possible if you are unable to make your appointment. If you know before the drive that you won’t make your appointment, please let Heather know by calling 430-4695, so someone else can be scheduled into your slot. In April, the Red Cross blood drive had a waiting list of people who wanted to give but couldn’t get an appointment. At the same time, a record number of no-shows left those appointments unfilled.
4. If possible, please complete a Rapid Pass prior to coming for your appointment. You can do so by going to www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass.
