A Ceylon, Minnesota man, Darwin Dennis Sell, age 45, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for repeated sales of methamphetamine in Redwood County.

According to court documents, in Sept., Oct., and Nov. of 2021, agents from the Brown Lyon Redwood Renville Drug Task Force worked with confidential informants to purchase methamphetamine from Sell on three different occasions, twice at a residence near Morton, and once at a residence near Clements.

Part of the evidence presented in court was audio made from recording equipment carried by the confidential informant during the transactions. Also included was text messages between Sell and the confidential informant negotiating the price of the meth, and stating they meet somewhere “so nobody knows”.

When the court issued a warrant for Sell’s arrest, he already had an active warrant for failing to appear at a previous court hearing for a separate case, and a probation violation warrant.

On Dec. 4, Sell was convicted of felony drug sales and sentenced to the correctional facility in St. Cloud for 72 months.
