A Bird Island woman was injured in a Renville County collision Wednesday morning.

On Oct. 5, at 7:42 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Renville County Roads 1 and Renville County Road 4, eight miles south of Danube.

Responders found a 2017 GMC Yukon driven by 39-year-old Heather Bickford of Bird Island, and a 2017 Dodge Ram driven by 52-year-old Glenn Beranek of New Ulm, MN.

Preliminary investigation revealed Beranek’s vehicle had been traveling westbound on County Road 4, and stopped at the intersection. He entered the intersection, and had been hit by Bickford’s vehicle traveling southbound on County Road 1.

Bickford was transported to Health Partners-Olivia with unknown injuries. Beranek was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Danube Medical Response Unit, the Danube Fire & Rescue, the Olivia Ambulance Service, CentraCare Ambulance-Redwood Falls, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

This crash remains under investigation by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
