D.M.S. Fick

Country music festivals are in the air this summer, and a regional author has written a mystery novel set at one.

D.M.S. Fick grew up in Revere, and graduated high school in Walnut Grove. As it happens, she also an Emmy-nominated graphic designer and cartoonist who does design and animation for SciGirls, a PBS Kids program that encourages girls and young women to become involved in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Although she’s lived in several towns around the state, her heart is never far from the land her dad and uncle farmed. In fact, she has a one-inch scar over her heart from a weed hook incident while walking beans . She and her husband now live in southern Minnesota as they have for the last decade.
