A Redwood Falls man, Bradley George Johnson, age 33, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for drug offenses after being found asleep at a local gas station.

According to court documents, on April 9, 2021, Redwood Falls police officers were called to a local gas station on a report of a man passed out in a green Chevrolet Blazer that had been parked next to the gas pumps for about an hour. When the officer arrived he did a check on the vehicle’s licence plate to find out who the owner was.

The officer on the scene recognized Bradley George Johnson slumped over in the driver’s seat. Johnson, after awakening, stated he was tired and wanted to drive home. He stated the Blazer was his, although the license plate indicated the vehicle belonged to someone else.

Johnson consented to a search of the vehicle. The officer located several marijuana cigarettes, and two small locked safes. The officer took the safes, and allowed Johnson to leave the scene.

A search of the safes at police headquarters turned up marijuana and methamphetamine, along with various types of drug paraphernalia.

On June 27, Johnson was sentenced for felony controlled substance possession in the second degree to four days local confinement, three years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $400.
