Redwood County Sheriff’s Office identifies woman who died in Friday house fire

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office has identified the  woman found deceased after a Morton-area house fire Friday evening as Theresa Wabasha, age 65.

On Friday, at about 10:13 p.m., the Redwood Falls Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house on fire on Reservation Highway 1. After putting out the fire, emergency crews, located the body of of Wabasha.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshall Office to determine the cause of the fire.

Also assisting on the scene were the Lower Sioux Tribal Police Department, Morgan Police Department, Carris Ambulance Service, and the Morton Fire Department.
