On Tuesday, the Redwood Falls City Council approved a plan for the Pryor family to finance a new pavilion for Memorial Park, near the aquatic center.

The family of long-time residents Paul and Marvel Pryor have offered to build and furnish a 30 x 40 foot cedar lumber and asphalt shingles shelter to the south of the aquatic center, in-between the pool and the baseball field. The site was chosen because of the already-existing ample parking and ease of access to the public.

Because the pavilion will be built on city property, the city will own the structure. When completed, the Redwood Falls Parks and Recreation Department will add this pavilion to the list of shelters rented out during the summer months.
