Oleson gets six years in prison for child molestation

An Olivia man who admitted sexually molesting a child was sentenced to more than six years in prison in Renville County District Court Wednesday.

In March, 60-year-old Ronny Ray Oleson was arrested and charged with eight felony counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd and 4th Degree Involving Force or Coercion for making sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 over a two year period.

On October 30th he pleaded guilty to one of the 3rd degree charges, for an incident in June of 2013, and the rest of the charges were dismissed.

On Wednesday morning Judge Lawrence Stratton sentenced Oleson to 74 months in prison in St. Cloud. He was given credit for 132 days already served, and after his release he will be registered as a predatory sex offender and will be on probation for 99 years.
