Joy Orvis, Roseau County and two Redwood County residents, Tiffany Lesmeister-Knott and Anita Runck,were chosen to represent the 7th District Republicans at the national convention in July.

The Minnesota 7th Congressional District Republican Party held their convention at Jackpot Junction Conference Center near Morton on April 26-27 with over 500 in attendance.

According to Shirley Appel, Redwood County Republican Secretary, the convention ended with several resolutions passed along with the election of Joy Orvis, Roseau County and two Redwood County residents, Tiffany Lesmeister-Knott and Anita Runck, to represent the 7th District as delegates to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July.

The event began Friday, April 26 with three training sessions and culminated with a banquet as a “Tribute to Our Veterans” in the evening.  

Republican Party of MN Chair, David Hann addressed the crowd, followed by US Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach and MN Senator Gary Dahms of Redwood Falls.  Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks, a 22 year Army Veteran from Iowa, was a as guest speaker. Alex Plechash, of the RNC Committee, shared his story and video of a recent trip to Israel followed by author and Vietnam veteran Ron Mackendanz sharing his experiences.
