North Dakota man killed in Kandiyohi County collision with semi Wednesday

A North Dakota man in his 80s was killed when his car collided with a semi-truck north of Willmar Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 4 p.m. on Feb. 23, Louie L. Slominski, age 82, of Minto, North Dakota, was driving his pickup southbound on Highway 9. At the intersection with Highway 23, Slominski collided with a westbound semi-truck being driven by Marc Samuel Sheets, age 49, of Raymond.

Sheets was not injured, but Slominski died of his injuries.

The New London Ambulance and Fire Department, Minnesota DNR, and Kandiyohi Rescue and Sheiff’s Office assisted at the scene.
