A Milroy man, Travis Lee Nelson, age 46, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for making felony-level threats of violence during a January incident.

According to court documents, on Jan 5 of this year, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to a residence in Milroy after learning of a domestic assault involving a firearm. The victim stated on the phone that Nelson had assaulted her, pointed a gun at her, and had directed a witness who suffers from traumatic brain injury to also point a gun at her.

After the victim left the house and went to another residence, Nelson called her approximately 55 times. When law enforcement arrived at the residence, Nelson and the witness left. A preliminary breath sample showed a .13 blood alcohol content.

On March 11, Nelson was sentenced  to 60 days local confinement, and fines and fees of $485.
