A Milroy Man, Michael Joseph Reppe, age 36, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for two incidences of felony-level threats of violence that occurred late last year.

According to court documents, on Sept. 27, 2023, Redwood County deputies were called to the Milroy City Hall to speak with a victim who claimed Reppe had called her five times in an hour to threaten her, and who had recorded the call. Deputies listened to the recordings, which contained numerous threats against the victim’s safety.

Deputies were already familiar with Reppe from previous reports of disorderly behavior at Milroy City Hall. Deputies contacted him later and transported him to the Redwood County jail.

On Oct. 26, 2023, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office contacted Redwood County deputies to ask for assistance in arresting Reppe, who had called a gas station and threatened to shoot everyone there.

When contacted at his home, Reppe told law enforcement that he would shoot anyone who attempted to enter his home to apprehend him. He eventually agreed to surrender, and was placed under arrest. Investigation showed that Reppe had previously been charged with making threats in Yellow Medicine County.

On March 11, Reppe was sentenced to a total of 21 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, 120 days local confinement, three years supervised supervision, and fines and fees of $710.
