Man falls through ice in Yellow Medicine County

On Dec. 24, at 7:05 pm, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a person had fallen through the ice on Wood Lake in a Can Am Side by side. This incident happened on the southwest side of the lake in approximately five feet of water.

The male driver was able to get out and return home to warm up and call the incident in. The man who fell through the ice refused medical attention, and will be removing the side by side.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriffs Office wants  to remind everyone that the ice can never be 100 percent safe and use caution at all times.
