Lamberton man sentenced for fleeing police officers, driving while high

A Lamberton man, Adam Trent Bridgeman, age 34, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court after fleeing from police officers in a vehicle while under the influence of several controlled substances.

On March 18 of last year, a Redwood Falls police officer was dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle circling the same area for hours around East Spring Street. The officer found the vehicle, identified the driver as Bridgeman, and confirmed that both Bridgeman’s drivers license and the registration of the car had been revoked.

The officer activated his emergency lights and siren for a moment, but Bridgeman drove through a stop sign, turned, and sped up. The officer was finally able to block Bridgeman’s car in a store’s parking lot.  Bridgeman allegedly admitted he’d been circling the area for hours, and that would “probably” test positive for methamphetamine.

At the Redwood County jail, Bridgeman tested positive for alcohol and methamphetamine. Investigation showed he had three previous convictions for DWI.

On April 24, Bridgeman was sentenced to a total of 365 days local confinement, stayed for 275 days for three years, three years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $600.
