Deputies from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office were able to save a dog that had fallen into a half-frozen lake Saturday afternoon.

On Nov. 25, at about 2:15 p.m., deputies responded to a property on West Twin Lake regarding a dog who had fallen through the ice. Deputies found the dog about 150 feet off shore, in 10 feet of water, unable to climb back onto the ice.

A deputy equipped with cold water rescue gear crawled across the lake and was able to reunite the dog with its owner a short time later.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, and Minnesota DNR.
