Hector man dies Wednesday after car collides with semi-truck

A Hector man died when the vehicle he was riding in collided with a semi-truck in McLeod County Wednesday morning

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:32 a.m., an eastbound 2020 Buick Encore driven by Jean Alice Anderson, age 85, of Hector on 150th Ave. At the intersection with Highway 15, the Encore collided with a southbound 2011 Kenworth truck being driven by Matthew Jay Wilder, age 39, of Alexandria.

Matthew Jerome Mathison, age 92, of Hector, a passenger in Anderson’s car, died at the scene. Anderson was transported to the hospital in Hutchinson with life-threatening injuries. The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
