Five people injured in Renville County crash Sunday

Five people were injured in a crash in Renville County Sunday.

According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, on March 10, at 12:47 pm, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a vehicle had gone off the road about 10 miles northeast of Buffalo Lake.

Emergency responders found a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva SUV driven by 60-year-old Becky Chase, of Bird Island, and four passengers: 28-year-old Natasha Chase of Olivia, a 10-year-old juvenile male from Litchfield, an 8-year-old juvenile male from Litchfield, and a 5-year-old juvenile male from Litchfield.

Preliminary investigation revealed that while the Chevrolet Captiva was northbound on County Road 20, it entered the ditch and struck a field approach, launching into the air and stopping in the road ditch.

All occupants were transported to Health Partners- Hutchinson for treatment. Two of the juveniles, ages 5 and 8, were transported by Life Link III helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis for further care and treatment.

This crash remains under investigation.
