COVID-19 News: dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases in Nobles County

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nobles County soared to 69 as of Sunday, with numbers expected to increase.

Just over 25 of the workers at the JBS pork plant in Worthington and five relatives tested positive in Nobles County. The outbreak coincided with a surge in infections at Smithfield Foods just across the border in Sioux Falls, where more than 700 workers had tested positive for COVID-19.

That plant has closed for the foreseeable future.
