Virgle C. Zimmerman age 95, of Sanborn, MN died on November 3, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society Sogge Memorial Home in Windom, MN.

Private family services will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Interment will be at the Sanborn City Cemetery in Sanborn, MN.

Virgle Charles Zimmerman, lovingly known as more grandpa, was born at his home in Sanborn, Minnesota on January 16, 1925 to George and Emma (Haeska) Zimmerman. He attended Sanborn Public School until 10th grade when he enlisted in the US Army to fight for his country in Europe during WWII. When he returned, he married Norma Moll on November 27, 1948. They were blessed with four children – Sandra, Jody, Aaron, and Nathan. Virgle was a school bus driver, meat cutter, and maintenance worker for the city of Sanborn. He loved growing things, especially flowers, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he passed on to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his children – Sandra (Steve) Trapp of Sanborn, Jody (Alan) Saffert of Windom, Aaron (Leah) Zimmerman of Mankato, and Nathan (Kristi) Zimmerman of Redwood Falls; 9 grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 18 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Virgle was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, and his siblings.
