Patricia “Pat” Kuemper
We are sad to announce that on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 we had to say goodbye to our mother Patricia “Pat” Kuemper at the age of 85 from Bird Island, MN. She entered into eternal rest after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 12th at 1:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island with Rev. George Schmit as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Pat will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.
Patricia Ann Kuemper was born December 31, 1933 in Murray County to John and Bertha (Wayman) Bruns. She attended school in Worthington. She was united in marriage to Thomas Kuemper on April 14, 1952 at Worthington. In 1958 they moved to Bird Island. Tom and Pat were married for 56 years and parents of six children.
Pat was an active member of the legion auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Bird Island Lioness and for six years was Den Mother of the Cub Scouts. Pat enjoyed quilting as well as playing cards and games.
Pat will be lovingly missed by her five sons: John (Karen), James “Jim” (Ronda), Jerome “Jerry”, Michael “Mike”, and Theodore “Ted” (Tanya); her 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. All of whom were enriched by her presence in their lives.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, John and Bertha Bruns; her husband, Thomas Kuemper; daughter, Carol Kuemper; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” and Betty; brother, Robert “Bud”; and her grandson, Brian Kuemper.
Forever in our hearts and minds, Pat will be missed.
