Patricia K. Ross

Patricia K. Ross, age 78, of Prior Lake, MN, formerly of Redwood Falls and Hutchinson, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at McKenna Crossing in Prior Lake.

Patricia Anne Klein was born April 1, 1945, in Adrian, MN. She was the eldest of eight children born to James and Rose (Cox) Klein. Her parents used to say that with Pat being their first child and being born on April Fools Day, when they shared the news, their friends thought at first it was an April Fool’s joke. Pat attended St. Adrian school graduating in 1963. While at St. Adrian, Pat enjoyed being a majorette in the marching band. Pat furthered her education at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN where she graduated as a licensed practical nurse. Pat was working in Mankato when she met Jon Ross. On May 4, 1968, Pat and Jon were united in marriage at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. This marriage was blessed with two children, Tim and Kris. They shared 48 years of marriage.

Shortly after they married, Jon and Pat moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. After the birth of Tim, they moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family. Pat put her nursing degree to use as they lived in Redwood Falls, Willmar, and Hutchinson. She worked mostly in a clinic setting but finished her career as a school nurse. She loved working with the younger kids who would come to the office not feeling well and she would hold them in her lap and shower them with love. Her loving nature made her a great fit for her chosen career. Even after she moved to McKenna Crossing, all the staff knew she was a nurse, and she was the first to try and help any resident who was in distress.

Pat loved spending time with friends and family. Her happy personality made it so she never had a problem making friends, especially on Beachwood Lane in Redwood Falls where she and Jon made lifelong friendships with many of the neighbors. She very much enjoyed when Tim, Kris, and their families would come to visit or spend holidays together.

For a short time before she was married, Pat worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines. This helped bolster her love of travel. She and Jon took every chance to return to Hawaii to visit friends they had made when they lived there. They also enjoyed travelling to Alaska and would always recommend that everyone should visit there. Other trips to visit family and friends throughout the U.S. were just as special for them.

Pat was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jon; parents, Jim and Rose Klein; brothers and sister, Jay Klein, Bob Klein, Therese Koudelka, Jack Klein, and sister-in-law Nita Klein. She is survived by her son, Tim (Kathleen) Ross; daughter, Kris (Dan) Lage; grandson, Henry; siblings, Eugene Klein, Kathy (Paul) Lais, and Mike (Janet Schaefer) Klein; sisters-in-law, Joann Klein, and Mary Klein; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10-11 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16311 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN.
