Myren C. Osland, age 86 of Tracy, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Prairie View Health Care Center in Tracy. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Tracy Area Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, and will continue until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Walnut Grove at a later date. Myren Carl Osland was born March 31, 1937 to Carl and Martha (Warner) Osland in Storden Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The family later made their home in rural Walnut Grove in 1942. Myren was baptized at Highwater Lutheran Church rural Lamberton and later confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church rural Walnut Grove. On November 20, 1959, Myren married Alice Rath at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake. This marriage was blessed with three children, Milan, Dawn and Glen. The family lived on a farm site in Storden Township. Later this marriage was dissolved. Myren was a farmer, a heavy equipment manager and helped several farmers in the area. In his later years, he moved to Tracy. In December of 2017, he entered Prairie View Health Care Center. Myren loved visiting with people. Blessed be his memories.
Myren is survived by his children: Milan (Mary) Osland of Westbrook, Dawn (Jim) Jenniges of Wanda and Glen (Sunny) Osland of Lamberton; grandchildren: Dustin (Brittanie) Theis of O’Fallon, IL, Melinda (Prestin) Parker of Storden, Mariah Osland of Seattle, WA and Toby Osland of Lamberton; step-grandchildren: Amanda (Joel) Gilbertson of Detroit Lakes, Sheena (James) Sanow of Marshall and Spencer Schenk of Brandon, SD; numerous great grandchildren and great step grandchildren; sisters: Margie (Larry) Fischer of Tracy, Judy (John) Folkerds of Buffalo and Twilia (Doug) Kletscher of Westbrook; brother-in-law Daniel Stiles of Sioux City, IA; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Martha, brother Virgel Osland, sister Connie Stiles, and sister-in-law Nancy Osland.
