Lucy Anne Moldan

Lucy Anne Moldan, 83, of Lamberton, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel and will continue on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Wabasso, MN. A Prayer Service and Rosary will take place on Thursday at the Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Wabasso, MN, on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Father Tony Hesse. Interment will take place at a later date.

Lucy Anne Moldan was born on March 21, 1940 to Leo and Mildred Tauer of Morgan. She was the oldest of 10 children and was baptized and confirmed in Saint Michael’s Church in Morgan. In 1959, she married Gerald Moldan of Sleepy Eye and moved to a farm near Lamberton where she raised 8 children. Lucy very much enjoyed gardening and became a master gardener with the University of Minnesota. If you couldn’t find her in her garden, she would be reading a book. Lucy was active in 4-H and served as an adult leader. She was very involved in Saint Mathias Church where she was a Council of Catholic Women member, served on the parish council, a Eucharistic minister, reader, and sacristan. She served as a school board member in Lamberton. She also volunteered at Groundswell where she made lifelong friends. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was warm, loving, and faithful to Jesus and was often found on her knees praying the Rosary.

Lucy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gerald; children – David (Cindy) Moldan, Jane (Richard) Meidl, Laurie (Mike) Tabery, Julie (Kurt) Harries, Alisa (Bruce) Weber, Marty (Gwen) Moldan, and Rachel (Travis)Lind; grandchildren, Chris (Lauren) Moldan, Daniel (Crystal) Moldan, Matthew (Amber) Moldan, Zach (Claire) Meidl, Andrew Meidl, Rebecca (Cam Courtright), James (Mikayla) Tabery , Bryan (Nikki) Tabery, Anthony Tabery, Michael (Kristen) Harries, Mark (Ali) Harries, Marie Harries, Amanda (Dan) Kieffer, John (Corey) Weber, Emma (fiance Dan Holperin) Weber, Allison Moldan, Alena Moldan, Gavin Lind, and Gia Lind; Great Grandchildren, Olivia, Carson and Cooper Moldan, Chloe, Eli, Noah, and Caleb Moldan, Marvin and Ferris Courtright, Evan and Kane Tabery, Cleo and Kit Tabery, Lucy Harries, Hadley Harries, Oliver, Ethan, and Laura Kieffer, Kate Weber; and 9 siblings. She was preceded in death by her son, Andre Moldan and grandson, Matthew Harries.

Memorials preferred to Lucy’s 1 year-old great granddaughter, Kate Weber, to assist with her treatments of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
