Frank Trebesch

Frank Trebesch age 88, of Sanborn, Minnesota passed away on April 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, MN. Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:30 am. The clergy will be Pastor Ethan Boese. Interment will be at the Sanborn City Cemetery.

Frank Kay Trebesch Jr. was born on September 22, 1935 to Frank and Sena (Albertson) Trebesch in North Star Township. He attended Sanborn Public School and graduated in 1954. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, Fort Ord, Fort Sill and then Korea. He served from July 1958 until he was honorably discharged in July 1960.

On October 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Goerish at St. Thomas Oratory in Sanborn, MN. They had 4 children together. Frank worked various jobs throughout his life including Central Iowa Phone Company, Morgan elevator, Sanborn elevator, Corner Bar, Sanborn Farm Chemicals and Meadowland. Frank was a member of the Sanborn American Legion Post #286, served as a Sanborn City Council Member for several years and also served as a member of the Sanborn Fire Department.

Frank loved to do many things like deer hunting, fishing, playing cards with neighbors and friends. He also loved working in the garden (his pride and joy was his onions) and cutting wood for the cold winters.

Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elly; children – Kay (Kevin) Moulder of Jeffers, Karla (Dennis) Rothmeier of Redwood Falls, Kevin (Donitta) of Sleepy Eye; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren siblings, sister-in-law Elly Trebesch of Oregon and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Kraig; parents, Frank and Sena; brothers, Adolf, Delmer (Bonnie), and Roland; and sister Donna (Dick) Collins.
