Ellen B. Frederiksen

Ellen B. Frederiksen, age 90, of Redwood Falls, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls, MN. A private family service will be held later this summer.

Ellen Bell (Rockwell) Frederiksen was born on June 16th, 1933, in Eau Claire, WI. Ellen lived in the Redwood Falls, MN area for the majority of her life.  Ellen was united in marriage to Ernest C. Frederiksen on August 28th, 1953. They lived in their big white house on Second Street for over 60 years until Ernie’s passing in 2017. Ellen and Ernie had two beautiful boys, David and Timothy. Ellen worked at Beecher’s Drug, Lincoln High School, and Control Data. She was fortunate enough to retire early.  Ernie and Ellen loved going to Florida during the cold Minnesota winter months.  They wintered in Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed watching the Twins during spring training.  Ellen especially loved Kirby Puckett.  They enjoyed many activities in Florida, including their favorite, visiting their son, Dave, and his family in Jacksonville.  Ellen was a very good cook. She loved making soup with her grandma when she was younger. She made the best taco salad, which was a staple at most family gatherings. She also loved baking for her family and friends.

Ellen is survived by her two sons, Dave (fiancé Ruth Hooten) Jacksonville, FL and Tim (Melanie) Redwood Falls, five grandchildren: John Frederiksen, Justin Frederiksen, Shawn Frederiksen, Lynetta (Michael) Bynum, Carley Frederiksen (fiancé Brandon Sullivan). Ellen is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Hunter, Wylee, Alex, Eli, Michael Jr., Peyton, Adalyn, Everleigh, McKenna and another baby boy on the way.  Ellen is also survived by her cousins, Greg and Eileen.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernie; grandparents, her aunt and uncle, great-grandsons, Caleb Frederiksen and Dakota Thompson, and nephew, Larry Okins.
