Charles “Chuck” Allford

Charles “Chuck” Allford, age 75, of Olivia, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Harmony River Senior Living in Hutchinson. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with Military Honors to follow immediately at 2 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow the visitation at Brly’s Den in Olivia from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Tuesday, March 19 at 12:30 p.m. (If you plan to attend please be at Gathering Area 4 by 12:15 p.m. sharp) A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held following the burial on Tuesday at the American Legion Post 65 in Rosemount, MN (14590 Burma Ave. W), from 2 to 4 p.m.

Charles Joseph Allford was born on July 31, 1948 to George and Marilyn (White) Allford in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis in 1966. Following graduation he served his country in the United States Army until 1974. Chuck was a member of the American Legion Post 65 in Rosemount where he served for two years as commander in 1996 and 1997. Chuck was married to Kathleen Carlson and their marriage was blessed with four children. He moved to Olivia in 2010 and drove truck for many years for various local companies. A perfect day for Chuck would include spending time fishing while listening to country music, followed by catching up with friends at the local bar and testing his luck at pull tabs. When he wasn’t outdoors he enjoyed going to the casinos and watching WWE Wrestling. He had a strong work ethic and a need for everything to be tidy and clean. Chuck will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and very sarcastic humor.

Chuck is survived by his three daughters: Coreen Allford, Christine Allford, and Laurie Allford; son, Steven Allford; grandchildren: Trisha, Brandon, Riley, Jacie, Joshua, Courtney, Anthony, Alexis, and Logan; many great-grandchildren; former wife, Kathleen Allford; sister, Sharon Bloyer; and brother, David White. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, George Allford; mother, Marilyn White; and brother, William Allford.
